There is a moment in the year where everything feels like it quietly exhales and begins again. Ostara, celebrated at the Spring Equinox, is that moment. And this morning, I felt it deeply as I stood at Duloe Stone Circle, just a short distance from Looe here in Cornwall.
The air was still, the light soft, and the land felt like it was gently waking up.
Duloe Stone Circle is said to be the only granite stone circle of its kind in the UK, which makes it feel even more special. Smaller and more intimate than many ancient sites, it holds a quiet, grounded energy — the kind that invites you to pause rather than rush. Standing there on the morning of the Equinox, it felt like the perfect place to honour the balance between light and dark.
Ostara marks the point in the year where day and night are equal — a moment of perfect balance. From here, the light begins to grow stronger, and we move fully into the energy of spring. In pagan traditions, this is a time of renewal, fertility, growth and new life, and when you are standing in a place as ancient as Duloe, you can feel that this rhythm has always been here.
There is something powerful about experiencing these seasonal shifts in nature rather than just reading about them. As I stood within the circle, I found myself reflecting on what I am ready to grow this season — not in a rushed or pressured way, but gently, like the first signs of spring pushing through the earth.
This is what Ostara truly invites us into.
Not sudden transformation, but quiet becoming.
You may begin to notice it too — a shift in your energy, a desire to clear your space, new ideas forming, or a feeling that you are ready to move forward again after a slower season. Just like seeds beneath the soil, not everything needs to be visible yet to be growing.
Being at Duloe this morning felt like a reminder that we are part of something much bigger. These cycles of rest, growth, release and renewal are not random — they are natural, and they are meant to be trusted.
If you want to honour Ostara in your own way, it doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as lighting a candle, stepping outside, or finding a quiet moment to reflect. Ask yourself gently what you are ready to grow, and what you are ready to leave behind. You don’t need to have all the answers — just the willingness to begin.
If you feel drawn to working with crystals at this time of year, Green Aventurine is beautiful for growth and new beginnings, Rose Quartz supports gentle emotional renewal, Citrine brings energy and forward movement, and Amethyst offers clarity and connection to your inner world. These small practices can help anchor your intentions as the season begins to shift.
Living and working here in Looe, I’m constantly reminded how powerful this landscape is. From the sea to the woodland, to places like Duloe Stone Circle, Cornwall holds a deep, ancient energy that naturally supports healing, reflection and growth. It’s something I’m always weaving into both the shop and the community, because it’s not just something to visit — it’s something to experience.
Ostara is a reminder that no matter how long winter has felt, light always returns. Growth always comes back. And so do you.
You are allowed to begin again — gently, slowly, and in your own way.
If you’re local to Looe or visiting Cornwall and feel drawn to explore more of these spaces, I’ll be sharing more of my favourite spiritual places, rituals and reflections both here on the blog and inside the Sweet Pea community.
This is just the beginning 🌿✨
